Ayurveda
(or the science of life) is about being in harmony with the
rhythms of nature. This 5,000+ year old scientific system
correlated its findings through the comparison of human being
and the natural world. The basic principle of Ayurvedic therapy
is to remove impurities from the body, eliminating the physical
and emotional toxins that accumulate as a result of daily life.
This helps strengthen the immune system, reduce stress and the
aging process, enhance energy and state of well being, thus
improving overall health and appearance
While
Ayurvedic beauty regimens such as exfoliation, hydration,
cleansing, and massages are common, the products and methods
used are different from most spa treatments. Our
tradition-inspired treatments are holistic and organic, and many
of the ingredients used in the therapies are herbs and other
natural foods.
Finding Balance
Foot and Body Treatments include a gentle, effective dry
exfoliation; Ubtan* masque of chickpea , rice and yogurt powders,
blended Amla, Aswagandha, Brahmi, Neem, Shatavari herbs & Tulsi-infused
oil with sandalwood, clove and rose essential oils; and a hydrating
lotion application formulated to calm and balance with essential
oils of Sweet Orange. Vanilla, Cardamom and Basil.
*Ubtan is a paste
made from flour, seeds, or nuts to which herbs and/or spices, milk
or yogurt are added
